       Hideaway's Team    
 
     
       All Hideaway Counselors are experienced teachers or mature college students
     working toward a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education; over 21 years
     of age, with training in the development of children. They are selected for their
     specialized  abilities,  teaching  experience  and  educational  background.
 
 
  
 
          
 

     ROLAND D'ORTONE, DIRECTOR

     Obtained his B. S. in Education from West Chester University, and his M. A. in Educational Leadership
     from St. Joseph's University, including certificates of Principalship and Supervisory of Curriculum
     and Instruction and is working toward a doctorate in Educational Leadership. For eight years, he taught
     Criminal Justice  to juvenile offenders either serving time, or awaiting  trial at the
 Delaware County
     Prison. Throughout the year, he teaches Social Studies at Upper Darby High School, and is the Head Men's
     Lacrosse Coach at Neumann College.
 
       
 

    
     MARY JO D'ORTONE, DIRECTOR

    Obtained a B. A. in English, and a B. A. in Communications from Villanova University. Worked as a
     commentator for Young Universe and Kidsworld, programs featuring the accomplishments
of children,
     shown nationally and internationally. Performed with the Philadelphia Opera and
the New York Metropolitan
     Opera and as a soloist for the Ballet des Jeunes Ballet Company.
Traveled as a  Friendship Ambassador to
     Spain, Austria, Hungary, England, Scotland, Wales,
Italy, France and Switzerland.

    

 
       
       KATIE DONNELLY, PROGRAM DIRECTOR
     Obtained her B. S. in Education from Wes
t Chester University. She is certified in Special Education,
     and also holds certifications in Crisis Prevention and Intervention, First Aid a
nd CPR. Katie worked as a
     Special Education teacher at the Summit School. As a child, Katie was seen modeling in print ads for
     Smuckers Jelly, Fisher Price
and Sears!  
 
           
     
     KEVIN DONNELLY, HEAD SWIM INSTRUCTOR

    
Obtained a B. S. in Kinesiology from West Chester University. He is currently employed as a Phys. Ed
     Teacher at Spring-Ford High School, and is the Head Coach for the Spring-Ford Boy's Lacrosse Team
     there. He has
a Masters in Education from Gratz College. He holds certifications in Lifeguarding,
     Head Lifeguard, First Aid Instructor, CPR Instructor, & Water Safety Instructor.


 
       
      
     ERIC JACKSON, HIGH ROPES SPECIALIST

     Obtained his B. S. in Health and Physical Education with Minors in Health and Athletic Coaching from West
     Chester University. He taught Physical Education at Westtown School, coaching Soccer, Wrestling and
     Lacrosse. He currently  teaches Physical Education for the Avon Grove School District. Eric is certified in
     Ropes Course Instruction, First Aid, Water Safety, CPR Instruction, Sports Safety Instruction, and Lifeguard
     Instruction.

 
     
 

   
     GINA DI BENEDETTO, LOW ROPES SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsberg
     University and her Health and Physical Education Teaching Certification from West Chester University. She
     is a long term substitute at Stetson Middle School in West Chester. 

    

 
      
 
          
     BETH HIBBERT, EQUESTRIAN SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B. A. in Sociology, with a Minor in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from
     Arcadia University. She is currently employed by the Methacton School District as an Instructional Assistant
     in Worcester Elementary. She was Hideaway's Assistant Riding Instructor for 7 years, and has been the Head           Equestrian Specialist for 9 years. 

    
 
     
       
     DENISE CACCIOLA, DRAMA SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B. A. in Psychology from Villanova University, and holds a
certificate in Elementary Education.
     She is currently an Instructional Assistant at Woodland Elementary. She worked for the Julian Krinsky Camps,      specifically in the Creative and Performing Arts Camp.

   
 
     
       
     STEPHANIE FRANK, ARTS & CRAFTS SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B. A. in Studio Art and Education from Eastern University and an Art Certification from
     Rosemont College. She completed her student teaching recently in the Spring-Ford School District. 

   
 
     
     
     HARRY COSSGROVE, NATURE SPECIALIST
     Obtained his B. S. in Technology Education from Millersville University. He currently teaches at the Drexel
     Hill Middle School. He is an Eagle Scout, and a Scout Leader in Evansberg, and has been with us at Hideaway
     for 6 years.

 
     
 

     DANIELLE COOPER, COUNSELOR
     Obtained her B. A. in Psychology from West Chester University and is pursuing a Masters in Secondary
     Education Counseling. She is a Special Education Aide for for Radnor High School, and has worked at
     the Renfrew Center, an inpatient eating disorder treatment center, in the past. Certifications include CPR
     training. 
    

 
     
     
     JEN SWENK, COUNSELOR
     Obtained her B. A. in Spanish and Communications from Shippensburg University with Certifications in
     Elementary Education and English. She is completing her Masters in Education at Gwynedd Mercy, and
     currently teaches
Kindergarten in the Pottstown School District. Jen also teaches Preschool and Elementary
     level Dance Classes.
   
    
 
     
   
     JAMES BOWEN, JR., COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. A. in History from Millersville University and is planning to enter a Graduate Education
     Program. He is currently a substitute teacher for the North Penn School District and a volunteer firefighter
     the Hatfield Fire Company. He holds Certifications in AHA Heart Saver, First Aid, and CPR.

 
     
       
     CHAD GLIEMI, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. S. in Physical Education and teaching  certification from West Chester University. For
     the last four years, he has worked for a West Chester area day care center and is the Head JV Lacrosse
     Coach for Marple Newtown High School.

    
 
     
     
     JENNIFER MURRAY, COUNSELOR
     Obtained her B.A. in Elementary Education and a Minor in Psychology from DeSales University. She is
     currently a long term substitute teacher working with third grade students at Evans Elementary in the
     Spring-Ford Area School District.

    
 
     
 

     MICHAEL BROPHY, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B.S. in Secondary Education, with a concentration in Social Studies, and a B. S. in Elementary
     Education from California State University. He has an M. A. in Multi-Cultural Education from Eastern College,
     and currently teaches Social Studies at Springfield High School.

 
     
    
     LAURA CHRISTIE, COUNSELOR
     Obtained her B. S. in Earth Science from Millersville University and will be student teaching in the fall
     semester at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. laura worked as a counselor assistant at Hideaway last year. 

    
 
     
    
     DAVID MOYER, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. S. in Education from Shippensburg University and is currently working toward a
     Masters of Science in Geoscience from Mississippi State University. He is currently an Earth and
     Space Science teacher in the Pottsgrove School District, and a volunteer fireman for the Pottstown
     Fire Company.

 
     
     
     NICK KEOUGH, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. S. in Secondary Education and English Literature from the University of Scranton, and
     his M. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College.
He also holds certifications in Secondary
     Education and English.

 
     
        
    JESSICA CRAWFORT, COUNSELOR
    Obtained her B. A. in Elementary and Special Education from St. Joseph's University, and a M.Ed in
    School Psychology from Temple University. She is currently enrolled in a Ed.S program in School
    Psychology, and is employed by the Delaware County Intermediate unit.

    
 
 
     
    
     JIM VOORHEES, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. A. in Fine Arts and Illustration from Carnegie-Mellon University, and his M. A. in
     teaching
from University of the Arts. He also holds an M. A. in Art Illustration from Syracuse
    University. He currently teaches in the Downingtown area School District and he holds a black
    belt in Tae Kwon Do.
    
 
     
       
     KEITH NUNNELEE, COUNSELOR
     Obtained his B. A. in English from Ursinus College and is presently enrolled in a Master's of Education
     Program at Gratz College. He is currently teaching English and and TV Studio Production at Interboro
     High School.

 
     
    
     ELISABETH BISSEL, COUNSELOR
     Obtained her B. S. in Education and a Masters in Education from Ttemple University. For over 10 years
     she has served as Principal of Lincoln Academy, an alternative High School for troubled youth.
