    Hideaway Crew   
 
     
       All Hideaway Counselors are experienced teachers or mature college students
     working toward a degree in Elementary or Secondary Education; over 21 years
     of age, with training in the development of children. They are selected for their
     specialized  abilities,  teaching  experience  and  educational  background.
 
 
  
 
          
    ROLAND D'ORTONE, DIRECTOR
     Obtained a B. S. in Education from West Chester University and his M.A. in Educational Leadership from St.      Joseph's University, including certificates of Principalship and Supervisory of Curriculum and Instruction. He      is working towards a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. For eight years, he taught Criminal Justice to juvenile      offenders serving time or awaiting trial at the Delaware County Prison. Throughout the year, he teaches Social      Studies at Upper Darby High School and is the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Neumann University.

 
       
 

    
     MARY JO D'ORTONE, DIRECTOR

    Obtained a B. A. in English, and a B. A. in Communications from Villanova University. Worked as a
     commentator for Young Universe and Kidsworld, programs featuring the accomplishments of
 children, shown        nationally and internationally. Performed with the Philadelphia Opera Company  and the New York Metropolitan         Opera and as a soloist for the Ballet des Jeunes Ballet Company. Traveled as a Friendship Ambassador to Spain,      Austria, Hungary, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France and Switzerland.
    

 
       
      
    ELISABETH BlSSELL, PROGRAM DIRECTOR

    Obtained both her B.S. and Masters in Education from Temple University.
For over 11 years, she has served as     Principal of Lincoln Academy, an alternative high school for troubled youth.
   

 
           
 

     MARY BETH BALINT, HEAD AQUATICS INSTRUCTOR
    
Obtained her B. A. in Psychology and in Business from Immaculata University. She has a Masters Degree in      Elementary and Special Education and teaches Special Education at Lincoln Academy. Her certifications include      American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, ARC Fundamentals of Instructor Training, ARC for the Professional      Rescuer and ARC Lifeguard Training and First Aid.

 
       
      
     ERIC JACKSON, HIGH ROPES SPECIALIST

     Obtained his B.S. in Health and Physical Education with minors in Health and Athletic Coaching from West
     Chester University. He taught Physical Education at Westtown School, coaching Soccer, Wrestling and
     Lacrosse. He currently  teaches Physical Education for the Avon Grove School District. Eric is certified in
     Ropes Course Instruction, First Aid, Water Safety, CPR Instruction, Sports Safety Instruction, and Lifeguard
     Instruction.

 
     
     
     KAYLAN, HIGH ROPES ASSISTANT

     Obtained his B.F. A. in Sculpture from Guilford College in North Carolina. He is an avid climber and an      outdoorsman. He has taught High Ropes and has worked as a counselor at Camp Darkwaters and the Media      Friends School.

 
     
 

   
     COREY LUTTRELL, LOW ROPES SPECIALIST
     Obtained his B.S. in Health and Physical Education from West Chester University, and a Masters
     In Education from Wilkes University. He currently teaches Elementary Physical Education in the
     Lower Merion School District, and coaches Wrestling, Track and Football at Garden Spot Middle School

     BETH HIBBERT, EQUESTRIAN SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B. A. in Sociology, with a minor in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from
     Arcadia University. She is currently employed by the Methacton School District as an Instructional Assistant
     in Worcester Elementary. She was Hideaway's Assistant Riding Instructor for 8 years, and has been the Head           Equestrian Specialist for 11 years. 

    
 
     
       KEITH NUNNELEE, DRAMA SPECIALIST
     Obtained his B.A. in English from Ursinus College, and is presently enrolled in a Masters of Education Program      at Cabrini College. He is currently teaching English and TV Studio production at Conestoga High School for grades      9-12. This is his 14th year at Hideaway!  
 
     
       KIMBERLY ROLLISON, ARTS SPECIALIST
     Obtained her B.S. in Art Education with a concentration in Photography from Kutztown University. She presently      works
as a substitute teacher for the Daniel Boone School District, Pottsgrove and Exeter.
 
     
     
     HARRY CROSSGROVE, NATURE SPECIALIST
     Obtained his B.S. in Technology Education from Millersville University. He currently teaches at the Drexel
     Hill Middle School and is enrolled in a Masters Program at Cabrini College. He is an Eagle Scout, and a Scout      Leader in Evansburg, and has been with us at Hideaway for 9 years.

 
     
 
    MIKE MCMARRON, ONE-ON-ONE SPECIALIST
    Mike will receive his B.S. in Elementary Education in December of 2011 from Temple University.
    This is his second year as a One-On-One.


 
     
 
    JALANA SCHALL, COUNSELOR
    Has a B. A. in Fashion Merchandising from Kent State University, a Family and Consumer Science Teaching
    License from Ohio State University,
and a Masters in Arts and Teaching from Marygrove College. She currently     teaches Culinary Arts and Sports Nutrition at to grades 9-12 at Coatesville area High School.

 
     
      SARAH GOLDENBERG, COUNSELOR
    Sarah has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education,
and Advanced Development Psychology, and
    Masters in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from the University of Pittsburgh.    
    
 
     
      JAY DONNIS, COUNSELOR
    Received his B.A. in History from West Chester University and an M.A. in History from Villanova University. He is     currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in History at Lehigh University and works as a Special Education Aide at      Worcester Elementary. He also coaches Varsity Lacrosse Team at Methacton High School.   
 
   
      TONEY PULEO, COUNSELOR
    Obtained hIs B.S. in Education with a focus in Technology Education in K-12. He teaches Technology to
    grades 9-12 at the Coatesville Area High School, and is also the Football Coach there.
 
     
 

    JOHN DEEM, COUNSELOR
    Obtained his B.S. in Physical Education and Health Teacher Certification from West Chester University. He is     enrolled in a Master's Program in Health at Kratz College.  Certifications include First Aid, CPR, & Professional     Rescuer Lifeguard. He is a teacher and Football Coach at North Wales Middle School. This is his third year at     Hideaway.

 
     
      JOE TASSONI, COUNSELOR
    Joe has his B.S. in History and Secondary from King's College. Certifications include Secondary Education
    and Ropes instruction. Joe is currently enrolled in a Masters Program in Curriculum and Instruction at the     University of Scranton. He teaches History, Government and Psychology at Coatesville Area Senior High School,     and is a Football Coach there.
 
   
 

    BRITTANY LLOYD, COUNSELOR
    Obtained her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Kutztown University, with a
    Minor in Coaching. She is a Pre-K teacher at the Whole Child Learning Center, and is a High School Lacrosse
    Coach for 380 Lacrosse. This is her fifth year at Hideaway.

 
     
 

    ERIC PATERSON, COUNSELOR
    Received his B.S. in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University and a Masters in Reading from Arcadia   
    University. Certifications include Elementary Education and Reading Specialist. He is a Middle School Reading     Specialist for Grades 5-8 at the Glenolden School in the Interboro School District.

 
     
 

    DAN GANTZ, COUNSELOR
    Received his B.A. in Psychology from West Virginia University and an M.Ed. in Special Education
    from Chestnut Hill College. Certifications include Special Education, Social Studies, Math and
    English.
He teaches Special Education to 9th grade students at the Coatesville Area High School.
   

 
     
          
    SHANON STULB, COUNSELOR
    Obtained her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and a Masters Degree in Elementary
    Education from James Madison University.

 
     
         
    JEN WEIDMAN, COUNSELOR
    Obtained her B.A. in Communications and Spanish from Shippensburg University, and has an M.Ed. in     Elementary Education from Gwynedd Mercy College. Certifications include Elementary Education K-6 and     
    Middle School Language Arts. She is currently enrolled in a Special Education Certification program and
    teaches Kindergarten at Franklin Elementary in Pottstown.

 
     
      JOHN NELSON, COUNSELOR ASSISTANT          
    Received his B.A. in Sociology and Criminology from Millersville University. He is a School Counselor at
    Lincoln  Academy (an alternative school for troubled youth), and works with Autistic children. Certifications
    include Family Development Credential, Crisis Prevention, and CPR - First Aid.
 
     
    
    KAITLYN MCCAFFERTY, COUNSELOR ASSISTANT
    Kaitlyn is studying Elementary and Special Education at Kutztown University. She will
    earn her B. A. in December of 2011.

 
     
    
    SARAH THOMAS, COUNSELOR ASSISTANT
    Sarah is studying Elementary and Special Education at East Stroudsburg University. She will
    have completed requirements for her B. A. in May of 2012.

 
     
         
    DANA TAVARES, COUNSELOR ASSISTANT
    Dana Is currently enrolled in a full-time Occupational Therapy Masters Program at Thomas
    Jefferson University.


 
     
       
     VICKI JAMROGOWICZ, COUNSELOR ASSISTANT
     Has a B.A. in Business from Wilkes University. She is a One-on-One Teacher's Aide in the Special Education      classroom at Coatesville Area High School.
